Hi!

My name is Vania Zanetti, owner and operator of Pocket Tots Childcare.

I am a qualified Early Childhood Educator with a diploma in Early Childhood Education, Childcare Emergency First Aid certification, and over 30 years of experience working alongside children and families of diverse abilities, perspectives, and backgrounds.

Pocket Tots is a licensed multi-age childcare program located in a warm, home-based environment where children are encouraged to explore, create, connect, and learn through meaningful everyday experiences. My approach is grounded in strong relationships, child-led learning, and a deep respect for childhood, nature, and community.

You will not find highly structured days filled with worksheets, rigid routines, or endless teacher-directed crafts. Instead, you will find children building forts, caring for animals, painting outdoors, digging in the garden, exploring puddles, collecting treasures on walks, creating with open-ended materials, and learning through real experiences that invite curiosity, creativity, and connection.

I believe children learn best when they feel safe, capable, included, and genuinely valued. My role is to thoughtfully support and extend their learning through observation, conversation, invitations to explore, and responsive environments that evolve alongside their interests.

Family relationships are an important part of my program. I value open communication and maintain an open-door policy. While the day can often be busy and active, I am always happy to arrange a time to connect over coffee or tea to discuss questions, concerns, or your child’s experiences within the program.

Pocket Tots Childcare is fully licensed through the Vancouver Island Health Authority.
